Specialist DNV Cabins

We have designed and built thousands of service cabins to customers’ individual specifications for every conceivable offshore activity.

In the process, we have developed valuable areas of product specialisation – for example, pressurised cabins, local equipment rooms, extreme environment cabins and modules to house variable speed drives for critical offshore operations.

Our designers have a clear operational understanding of size and weight constraints imposed by deck areas and crane capacities, and are able to produce larger cabins (up to 200 tonnes and more) in split-module formats.

Cabins can also be designed to stack up to three units high where deck space is at a premium, or supplied on a flat-pack basis for on-site assembly.

And, through the years, we have built up a strong international reputation for drawing on all our experience to meet even the most challenging delivery schedules.

Service Cabins

Whether our cabins are simple workshops or fully-integrated FPSO VSD Modules, our design engineers work from a thorough understanding of our customers’ operational requirements.

All OEG cabins are designed to optimise work-space efficiency, meet environmental and acoustic requirements, and house our customers’ specialist equipment in complete safety.

We manufacture all our cabins to the highest industry standards (EN12079, DNV 2.7-1, DNV 2.7-2 and ATEX), including compliance with SOLAS/IMO regulatory requirements for A60 fire protection as standard.

State-of-the-art safety monitoring systems are incorporated, including an integrated fire and gas, pressurisation and emergency shutdown system suitable for Zone 1 applications.

Our experienced discipline technicians can integrate data communication networks, fire suppression, air conditioning and other systems to ensure rapid mobilisation and easy hook-up.

Specialised modules

Most standard cabins are 4, 6, or 10m units, but our designers have extensive experience in designing bespoke units and producing larger cabins up to 200 tonnes in split-module formats designed for easy on-site integration.

Our extensive experience in fitting-out specialised modules enables us to integrate and test many different types of customer-supplied systems and equipment.
