Vertec Engineering Builds on 2009 Success with Clutch of New Year Contracts

Aberdeen-based Vertec Engineering Limited (Vertec) is continuing its success of the past twelve months into early 2010 with a series of rental contracts totalling £50,000 already secured this year.

Vertec, which specialises in the design, build, sale and rental of specialist engineering service cabins and control rooms for the oil and gas industry, won a number of deals at the end of 2009 and the start this year to supply cabins for major operators in the oil and gas industry.

Companies that have contracted Vertec to supply units in recent weeks include Schlumberger, Playno, Corelab, Expro, Pipeline Engineering and Ichron.

Vertec is also currently involved in moving its stock fleet to its bases across the globe, with further rental engineering cabins to be relocated to Singapore to meet local customer demand.

Vertec Hires Controller Angela Caldow said: “The units that are being supplied for client projects are all pressurised cabins approved by DNV and A60 fire-rated for use in hazardous areas offshore. The cabins are typically used for well service operations and are all fitted with AC systems and fire and gas control protection to ensure the safety and well-being of personnel.

“The transfer of some of our fleet from the UK to our Singapore base is testament to the high level of demand that we have experienced in the Asia Pacific area since setting up our base there in November 2009. This has proved to be a very profitable area for us in terms of gaining new business and having a base in the Asia Pacific region is part of our plans to provide a quick response to clients regardless of where they are operating in the world.”

For more than 20 years, Vertec Engineering has been an international market leader in the design and manufacture of specialist offshore cabins and control rooms which house equipment and operatives in optimum conditions of safety, efficiency, quality and comfort.

Vertec’s rental fleet consists of a range of units in various sizes, to suit almost any client requirement, and specifications ranging from safe area to Zone 1. All units are designed to operate on a worldwide basis, and can be mobilised to any location across the globe.
