Schlumberger Contract Completed
Vertec Engineering (Vertec) has successfully completed a major contract for Schlumberger Oilfield (UK) PLC.
Vertec has completed the project to design, manufacture and commission an innovative electrical submersible pumps (ESP) control room module for the oil major.
Fully designed and engineered in-house by Vertec, the module provides a fire protected, air conditioned environment to house up to six variable speed drives (VSDs) and associated client equipment, including high voltage electrical switchgear used to supply power for the client’s downhole pumps and equipment.
Vertec Sales Manager, Gavin Duncan, said he was delighted the project – which was delivered within a tight schedule of 24 weeks – had been such a success.
He said: “We are extremely pleased to have completed – on schedule and within budget – this project. Due to lift weight issues on the platform where the module was installed, we were required to design the completed module utilising four lightweight modular sections, which were fully assembled in Vertec’s yard in
“The module was then broken down and shipped offshore for reassembly, integration of client equipment and commissioning, before installation.”
Gavin added: “This project – which was Vertec’s first major ESP contract with Schlumberger – was awarded on the basis of our proven track record as a global supplier of ESP modular solutions and the flexible approach we implemented for this project fully demonstrates our experience and ability to work with our clients on a bespoke basis, to achieve the desired result.
