OEG Offshore, leading global supplier of cargo carrying units (CCUs) and A60 engineering cabins to the offshore industry, today announce a major investment in their offshore DNV 2.7-1 tank fleet with the first delivery of new 550 Gallon (2,082 Litre) multi-purpose tanks ready for sale and rental.

The new 550 Gallon multi-purpose tank (polyethylene IBC) has been designed to provide safer handling and storage of hazardous fluids in transit to and from offshore or on the rig or platform.  The corrosive resistant tank has a compact & robust design as well as the smallest footprint and the highest payload in the industry.

In addition, the tank design provides customers with the very best in cost efficiencies. The innovative low profile design offers huge savings in filling and dispensing time combined with the ability to handle liquid capacities up to 550 Gallons.  It has significant cost savings for transportation or shipping and the units can be stacked up to three high where deck or yard space is at a premium.

Rob Goodall, VP of Business Development stated, “OEG has gone back to basics and designed the new product incorporating valuable customer feedback and operational experience into the tank which meets and exceeds DNV 2.7-1, EN 12079, IMO/MSC Circular 860, API RP 2A & Shell OPS0055 industry standards.

Having already secured a rental contract from an existing customer for a number of new multi-purpose tanks destined for Trinidad, we are confident customers in the Gulf of Mexico and globally will benefit from the safer handling and cost benefits of the new tank design.”

The DNV 2.7-1 compliant multi-purpose tank incorporates the world's only polyethylene intermediate bulk container (IBC) to meet UN/DOT certification standards for industrial packaging group II and III materials in a shipping capacity greater than 330 gallons.

OEG's new multi-purpose tank can store corrosive chemicals, acids (including hydrochloric and sulphuric) and solvents that are compatible with polyethylene providing a great deal of flexibility, versatility and safety for our customers in the Oil & Gas industry.  They are available from stock from our network of Gulf of Mexico locations in Houston, Cameron, Broussard, Port Fourchon and Venice as well as our Trinidad facility.

OEG's range of DNV 2.7-1 containers, baskets, workshops and tanks as well as A60 engineering cabins are available worldwide.  They offer the same varied range of equipment for sale as well as rental, alongside a bespoke design service.
