Offshore container and module manufacturer OEG Offshore (OEG) has appointed an operations director to lead its A60 module manufacturing division.

David Hunter, 42, will take on the role at OEG's Kirkton base in Aberdeen and will oversee the design and construction of specialist A60 modules, which will include ROV control cabins, LER and VSD modules, Zone 1 and 2 DNV 271 engineering units and high specification laboratory modules.
With 20 years of experience at OEG, Mr Hunter joined the company in 1991 as a joiner and outfitter before progressing to the roles of workshop supervisor, workshop manager, contracts & service manager and his most recent position as operations manager.
Mr Hunter said: “Having developed my career at OEG for two decades, I am really looking forward to taking on this new role and heading up the manufacturing team. The company has developed an excellent local and international reputation for its advanced module design abilities and for producing high quality modules and I intend to maintain these high standards while building on the knowledge and experience I have already gained with the company.”
John Heiton, chief executive at OEG, added: “We are delighted to appoint David as operations director; he is an excellent example of how OEG supports its staff and offers training opportunities and career progression.
“David has made a valuable contribution to OEG's success and growth since he joined. His managerial abilities, combined with his established relationship with our customers and his reputation as a well respected individual in the module manufacturing sector are indicative of his ability to step up to a director role.
“This year, OEG has focused on growing its client base at its international bases, following their launches in February 2010, and our Aberdeen manufacturing division is instrumental to providing a global, linked up service to our customers to provide modules anywhere in the world. David's role will involve maintaining the high standards that customers have come to expect from us as well as supporting our overseas offices with any manufacturing requirements.”
