Oil services group OEG Offshore is growing its operations in Western Australia with the formation of a Perth subsidiary.

OEG Offshore PTY Limited (OEG PTY) will supply clients in the offshore oil and gas industry with specialist, A60 pressurised engineering cabins and a range of containers and baskets all meeting DNV standards. The company, which is exhibiting at this week's Australian Oil and Gas show in Perth, has already invested $1m Australian dollars (£570,000 GBP) in a fleet of containers and A60-rated cabins to be located in Perth.

The establishment of the Western Australia base is the latest phase in OEG Offshore's ambitious plans to establish a significant presence in the Australasian market. Earlier this month (March) the firm appointed Darwin-based specialists, Tank & Pump Services (TPS) to act as a regional representative to handle all OEG operations in the Northern Territories, East Timor and Papua New Guinea.

Craig Russell, OEG Offshore Group's Commercial Director, said: “Establishing the Perth subsidiary is part of OEG Offshore's plans to provide our customers with an entirely global support service network. To ensure that we are strategically positioned for our customers, we have also linked up with Perth-based Intercon Millar Logistics (IML) to act as our operations and marketing partner.

“Our fleet of units will be located at Intercon's bases in Canning Vale and Jandakot, which will establish us in an optimum location to support our customers. Intercon has also appointed Josh Wright as sales and marketing executive to communicate OEG's services to potential clients across our full range of products. The presence of OEG Offshore PTY and its fleet of cabins and units on the ground will ensure that we are able to respond quickly to demand across Western Australia.”

In a bid to expand OEG Offshore's international clientbase, OEG has appointed Graham O' Brien as Regional Marketing Director for Australia and New Zealand and will work closely with both TPS and IML. Graham previously spent 25 years working for shipping container lease firm - Textainer Equipment Management - as Marketing Director for the South Pacific region.

Craig added: “Graham is a key appointment in OEG Offshore's plans to establish an 'on the ground' response service in Australia and his role will be fundamentally supportive of our operations in Perth and in the Northern territories.

“He has a wealth of experience in sales and marketing and helped to grow Textainer Equipment Management into the world's largest international container leasing company as its stands today. His expertise in the shipping container industry will assist us in delivering a comprehensive package to the oil and gas sector and he will play a key role in the next step of OEG Offshore's global ambitions.”

OEG PTY will be appearing at stand J06 at AOG in the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre from Wednesday until Friday (March 24 – 26).
