Container and module supplier and manufacturer OEG Offshore has won three rental contracts worth £365,000 ($600,000 USD) to deliver a series of containers and cargo baskets in Argentina.

OEG will deliver 28 cargo-carrying units, mini containers, tanks and cargo baskets to Weatherford and ten 10ft and 20ft closed containers to Canadian container business CTS.

The firm has also been contracted by MI Swaco to supply 40 mini containers and four chemical tanks. The deal was progressed through a link-up with Argentinian logistics company Logix SA, which acted as OEG's regional representative.

All three sets of units are intended for use at oil company YPF's drilling programme at Comodoro Rivadavia in Southern Argentina.

Chief executive John Heiton said: “We are delighted to be awarded these three contracts, which mark OEG's first venture into the Argentinian region. As our local agent, Logix played a crucial role in securing the MI Swaco deal by providing local negotiations and facilitating the relationships with customers. OEG is extremely keen to develop further business opportunities in Latin America and we anticipate that Logix will be a valuable long term partner that will play a key role in these plans.

“OEG has a vast international client base that requires module and container deliveries all over the world. Having a global network of offices and agents means that we can provide a joined up response to clients' needs and provide an efficient hassle-free service regardless of their location. These international links will play a crucial role in delivering the contracts in Argentina as we intend to source and mobilise units from our stocks in Hong Kong, Singapore, Aberdeen, the Netherlands and Houston, meaning that customer requirements, whether large or small, can be met.

“The presence of an OEG office or agent in the same time zone as a customer makes the communication process a lot easier, as well as significantly reducing costs for transport and shipping. In addition, it enables us to give our clients a more personalised service and increased customer satisfaction.”
