Vertec Engineering (Vertec) has secured a contract worth almost £500,000 from California-based Schilling Robotics (Schilling) to supply three sets of ROV modules and workshops – a total of six units – for use by its clients.

Designed to a standard 20 x 8ft footprint, the modules will house personnel involved in the operation of ROVs and will also provide an on-site maintenance facility for spare parts and repairs.

The deal strengthens a long-term working relationship, which has seen Vertec already deliver 12 units to the subsea company in 2009.

Vertec's Sales Manager, Gavin Duncan, said: “Our USP is our ability to deliver a custom-designed product for a very specialist area of the oil and gas sector. Reliability in service is crucial to our approach as our customers' leading-edge technology is typically operational 24/7.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract by Schilling. It marks the latest development of an excellent working relationship and is a tangible result of our company strategy of establishing closer relations with our customers by providing long-term tailored support.”
